The Immigration Assistance Program of CCNN is currently coordinating a regional response to the new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. Through information sessions and workshops, our aim is to consult with those that are interested in the process, provide them with specific guidance and tips, and help them fill out the necessary legal paperwork and organize the required documents (proof of identity, residence, etc.).

We need helping hands for a workshop that is going to take place at Immaculate Conception Church, Sparks, on Saturday the 17th of November (10:00am – 3:00pm). It is our aim to ensure that registered workshop participants submit strong DACA applications at the end of the workshop.

Our volunteers do not need to have previous experience in immigration law; we only ask you to attend one of our two training sessions (Tuesday 13th or Thursday 15th of November, 6:00pm – 7:30pm, Conference Room of CCNN at 500 E. 4th St., Reno, NV). If you have a little bit of extra time and want to make a difference in someone’s life, please fill out this application.

Don’t you have some other ones that are sooner? I think I missed the little flower one…

    • Hi Carla!

We had a workshop scheduled for Nov 3 in Truckee with Info Sessions leading up to it but there were some complications in reserving the venue we needed. That event is now going to take place at a later date on a smaller scale. We are also firming up details for Info Sessions and a workshop at UNR. Stay tuned!

Hello! Are the dates wrong here? November 17th is a Thursday.

    • Hello Lauren,

This post is actually from 2012, which is why the dates do not match up. Sorry for the confusion!

Were you seeking assistance or hoping to volunteer? If the latter, please let us know!
